So you just heard about Sellora and you're wondering — how exactly does this thing work? Do I need to be a tech person? What happens when someone orders? How does my money come to me?
You're not alone. These are the exact questions thousands of Nigerian sellers ask before they take the leap. And the honest answer is: it's simpler than you think.
This article walks you through everything — from the moment you create your account to the moment your customer receives their order and the money lands in your wallet.
What Is Sellora, Really?
Sellora is a platform that gives you your own online store. Not a page on someone else's website. Not a shared marketplace where your products are listed next to ten other sellers. Your own store, with your own link, your own brand, your own rules.
Think of it like this — Jumia is a market. Sellora gives you your own shop. The difference is everything.
Your store link looks like this: yourname.sellora.ng
You share that link anywhere — WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook — and anyone who clicks it lands directly on your store. They see your products, they order, they pay, and you get your money. All in one place.
Step 1 — Create Your Account
Go to www.sellora.ng and sign up. You'll fill in your basic details — name, email, password — and choose your store name. That store name becomes your link. So if your store is called "Adunni Collections," your link becomes adunnicollections.sellora.ng.
Once you're in, you'll need to complete three quick setup steps before you're ready to sell:
- KYC (Identity Verification) — to confirm you're a real person
- Payout Settings — so we know where to send your money when you make sales
- Pickup Location — this is the address your orders will be picked up from for delivery
These three steps are important. Don't skip them — your store won't work properly without them.
Step 2 — Add Your Products
Once your store is set up, start adding your products. For each product, you'll add:
- Product name
- Price
- Description
- Photos (the clearer, the better)
That's it. Your products are now live on your store and anyone with your link can see them.
Step 3 — Share Your Store Link and Get Customers
Sellora doesn't bring customers to you automatically — you share your store link and drive traffic to it yourself. The good news is that Sellora has built-in support for Meta (Facebook and Instagram) Ads and Google Ads, so if you want to run paid ads to get more people to your store, everything you need is already set up inside the platform.
For now, start simple. Share your link on your WhatsApp status, post it on Instagram, send it to people who ask about your products. Every click goes to your store.
Step 4 — A Customer Places an Order
When a customer lands on your store, they browse your products, pick what they want, and go to checkout. At checkout, they enter their delivery address and see the available delivery options with their prices — automatically calculated based on their location and your pickup address.
The customer picks their preferred delivery option, then pays. Payment is through PalmPay, so it's fast, simple, and familiar to most Nigerians.
Step 5 — Delivery Is Handled Your Way
Sellora gives you two ways to handle delivery — you pick whichever fits how you run your business.
Option 1: Auto Shipment
This is the fully automated option. The moment a customer places an order and pays, Sellora instantly sends the delivery request to all our logistics partners at the same time. These include companies like GIG Logistics, DHL, Aramex, Sendbox and more — over 10 partners in total.
The system automatically selects the cheapest and fastest option for that customer's location and assigns the delivery to that partner. You don't need to call anyone or book anything manually.
The logistics partner comes to your pickup location to collect the product, then delivers it to your customer. Both you and your customer can track the delivery in real time from your accounts.
Option 2: Manual Shipment
Prefer to be in full control of your delivery prices? Use manual shipment. With this option, you set your own delivery fee for each location yourself. For example:
- Lagos delivery — ₦3,990
- Abuja delivery — ₦4,500
- Rivers delivery — ₦5,000
You can also set free shipping rules — for example, offer free delivery when a customer spends above a certain amount. You manage everything on your own terms.
This option is great if you already have your own courier arrangements or if you want to control exactly what you charge per state or city.
Step 6 — You Get Paid
The moment the order is placed and payment is confirmed, the money from the sale goes straight to your Sellora wallet. Not after delivery. Not after 48 hours. Immediately.
From your wallet, you can withdraw to your bank account anytime you want.
What About Dropshipping?
If you don't have your own products yet, Sellora has you covered.
Sellora has a built-in Dropship Marketplace — a section where vendors list products specifically for other sellers to pick up and sell. You log in, go to the marketplace, find a product you like, sync it to your store, and start selling it. When an order comes in, the original vendor fulfills it. Your profit is the difference between the original price and whatever price you listed it at — and that profit is paid to you automatically.
You're selling. You just don't have to stock anything.
Can I Use My Own Domain?
Yes. If you have your own domain name like adunnicollections.com.ng, you can connect it to your Sellora store. Your store will then open on your custom domain instead of the default sellora.ng link.
This is completely self-service — you can set it up from your dashboard. If you run into any issues, our support team is available to help.
Do I Need the App?
Sellora has an app available on the Google Play Store that you can use to manage your store from your phone. That said, the website version works perfectly fine and has all the same features. Start with whichever is easier for you.
Summary — The Full Journey
Here's the full picture in simple terms. You sign up and create your store link. You complete your KYC, payout settings, and pickup location. You add your products. You share your store link and drive customers to it. A customer picks a product, chooses a delivery option, and pays via PalmPay. Sellora handles the delivery — either automatically through our logistics partners or manually based on the prices you set. The moment payment is confirmed, the money goes straight to your Sellora wallet and you can withdraw to your bank anytime.
